    Default Gems/Orbs

    Do all (U)'s have the same chance of success, and all Norms, and all (L)'s

    i.e with a SoulOrb(L) you have the same chance of success as a StormOrb(L) - If the item is of course added with the same amount of SC/Speed

    i.e NormSC Guk + SoulOrb(L) or NormBoundy + StormOrb(L) = Same % chance of success?

    Just because certain LuckyGems and Orbs seem to never work for me, and others work alot of the time.

    Intrigued, anyone who could shed light on this would be greatly appreciated.

    this is because he tryed t stormorb(L) a necklace which is speed 3 already, which is a fair amount so its harder to get to speed 4 just becasue its lucky dont mean its going to work, same as i tryed to use a paorb(L) on a +2 pa stat item and it didnt work and same as a a braveryorb(L) on a item which was only dc +1 and it didnt work you cant guarentee it to work. gutting i knw as its lr and fairly hard to come accross orbs let alone (L) ones maybe success rate should be increased

    wen making orbs and gems theyre set from 1-11, which basically means 1 will have a 10% chance of workin and 11 will have a 110% chance of workin (works 1st time). the more of one stat tht goes onto an item the less chance the nxt orb will have of workin. For example:

    If you use a normal DC orb on a normal item (set to 6 i think) it will have a 60% chance of workin, For DC+1.

    If you then use a DC orb for +2 dc with a normal orb it will have a 50% chance of workin.

    If you then decide sod it ill use a (L) orb on a +2 stat item, it will have a 60% chance of working (set to 8 in the database), as 20% was lost in the other 2 stats.

    Note: if you have DC+7 on an item, and want to add MC+1 the chances of it working are the same as if the item was fresh with no dc added.

    Complicated for some but hope this helps.

    interesting explaination

    just had a lookie at the database and the only difference i can see between (U) normal (L) orbs is the Ac is different

    (U) = 0-2ac
    Normal = 0-4ac
    (L) = 0-6ac

    So im wondering if they represent the % (ie 2ac = 20%/4=40%/6=60%)

    where as the GM orb is set to ac 0-11

    soooooo i think i might of worked out how to improve the abilities thanks to Pow

    but as he mentioned as the + goes up the chances of it working goes down


    So with the numbers he's mentioned (and the ones i found in DB)

    When using Lucky orbs on Sils Neckie he will only have a 30% chance of it working (that is if i understand it all correctly)


    (hmmm thats got me thinking new Event Orbs - Watch this space )

    Lone, we've only had one war

    Back on topic though, Im not moaning about my orb failing, because it was a plus 3 stated item, however I ve used 3 Lucky Gems on 1 item, and all 3 have failed, just seems Storm is harder to add than anything else and just wanted to know if thats fact, or my bad luck.

    ur bad luck m8, i made s peed+4 g bead with not even using L gem. used L brave n it broke..... think it was 2 U that worked in a row failed norm worked norn failed norm and worked nown, L brave broke it 1st time

    Stormgems are set the same as all other gems in db - so it would appear its just bad luck.
