Events

Looking through the other server forums it appears there are regular events from 'Find The GM' to Quizzes in SZ, is there anything like this planned for LR or do they happen and I just miss them lol

nope we dilerately dont have those type of events.

they normally benefit just 1/2 person and dont have much thought put into them :P We prefer coming up with Well thought out events that actually keep people entertained but dont flood the server with items/Annoyence


^^ the last time we had a Quiz type event Dev decided to give out 3 rewards that were 3 of the rarest items in the game which resulted in all 3 items being taken back, those users annoyed at the loss of their reward, other users were annoyed that they didnt get to take part because they werent online, Dev lost his GM spot, it turned in to a bit of a farce tbh

o yeah he even awarded the winners prize to someone who managed to guess the anwser 4th.

all in all Quizes arent that great unless actually planned.


the High/Med rate have those sorts of events because giving out a few extra items on there doesnt make a massive difference.


im sure we could come up with some kind of Quiz thats fair for everyone no matter how fast you can type/level you are.

^^ ill have a think (off the cuff event npc for GMs to click and go hmmm i have a copy of Pobs invasion script so i can probably bash something to gether with that but make the drops mainly tokens so theres nothing to big dropping.)

How about a quiz event that was forum based eg.

Announce ingame that the questions will be posted on the forum at a given time (increase forum usage by members ingaeme that don't post here much) and the quickest people to email the answers back with all right.

Wouldn't be to difficult to setup an email box for answers and a screenie would prove who got the answers back quickest by time.

Prizes could be something like gold or tokens which could be used by all lvls/classes so people can't complain that the prizes are irrelevent to them ?

^^ with the tokens ingame now i suppose we could do some of those find the gm type event With something like

1st = 50 tokens
2nd = 25 tokens
3rd = 10 tokens


Ill need to think of ways to get a quiz working fairly - im thinking maybe have multiple rounds Based on different provinces in mir so everyone has a fair chance to anwser the questions they'll be a small prize for being the first set of correct anwsers back in each round and then an over all prize at the end of the quiz.

there would be a dead line for each round something like 2 hours after the questions have gone up, any submissions later than that wont count.

and your first submission is the one that gets counted, so you have a little while to try and get everything checked and plenty of time to come back and give the anwser.

that should be fair for everyone no matter how fast/slow you type.

It might eb better to make Q's general knowledge as if q's are all mir relatde noobs may not know the answer to questions about provinces they can't get to or havent seen.

^^ if they were all general knowledge based - Google will give the anwsers in seconds.

if its based on provinces (Bichon/Monchong/SerpentValley/TaoVillage/NoobVill) noobs can get to all of them ^.^

(the sort of questions i was thinking of was something like "In Bichon Province whayt can be found at cords 336 350?" )

So you would have 2 hours to get ingame, run about and find the anwsers etc ^.^

we can have a round of 2 of General knowledge though things like.

Who Scored the Last goal in the xxxx world cup final?
Who was the 5th person to step foot on the moon?
Whats the first ingrediant of Schweppes Lemonade Shandy?
