Had a long debate this afternoon which covered the issues of warrior and taoist levelling and the problems they have getting to use their skills on some of the higher level mobs.
A few suggestions that came up are as follows:
To aid taos and wars in levelling, the existing expbars could be modified so that each class could have a different bonus and close the levelling gap a bit
For discussion, say
- Wizz x2, war x2.6 and tao x2.9 or summut
- Each bar would be set so that it only worked at the higher rate when hunting solo and it would revert to normal x2 if grouped (or grouping would be prevented) so you dont get an uber player giving a massive boost to a new tao/war using abar
Also, an existing map could be set aside for tao/warrior only levelling with lots of mobs but with lowered amc by comparison with normal mobs so wars and taos could kill easier or with help of pets that struggle atm. The unused Mino map in noob village could be isolated for this purpose as it serves no purpose atm (and it would be closed off from noob vill and added to the Soldier NPC probably).
The idea is not to make taos and wars as easy to level as wizzies, but to close the gap some.
Would really like to hear ideas that help achieve this but which dont unduly unbalance the classes.
I set a bunch of higher level mobs able to be trapped and hallucinated but not a lot of point if players cannot get there chars high enough. Hopefully this idea will add some incentive to them levelling to get access to that new area of 'fun'
