Weekly Reboots/Scheduled Reboots

The Weekly reboot is on a Monday every week at approx 6:15 to 6:30 PM

This is a scheduled reboot which means that I will not be able to replace any pets, tokens, gold or exp increases.

I am aware that there are a few new faces the server that may not of known when the weekly reboot takes place, If you know of anyone that has just started the server if you would be so kind as to mention to them when the weekly reboot takes place I would much appreciate it.

For unplanned reboots we try our best to replace loses of pets, tokens, gold and exp increases through CompoBox spawns.

If people decide that they want to have a go at Ares when he is replacing peoples items, pets or trying to work on the server.

I will advise Ares not to replace anything for them ever again.


We replace pets and EXP bars because we are nice, If you start treating us badly because you couldnt make use for something then we will start to treat you badly

i did make a mention of this last time in the post entitled "taking the piss after reboots" this is the last warning.

So take this as a warning - if you cant give us a rough time of when you used an exp bar before a crash, or you havent a clue what pets you had before an unscheduled reboot then we will not go through the logs and dig out the info - you need to put in a little effort to help us out - more often than not after an unscheduled reboot/crash i am busy trying to work out what went wrong and how to recover the system - the last thing i need is Ares coming back and saying - i have userxxxx moaning about xxxx from the reboot could you check the logs and work out if he had used it or not etcetc.

if i have a time of when the item/exp was used i can check it out in a few seconds compared to having to work back from when it crashed throug hthe errors that caused the crash etcetc


So Please dont have a go if Ares doesnt instantly replace your items and if he Says no, treat that as if it was me saying no, He knows the rules and he wont break them, So If the system crashes Or we decide we need to tkae it down due to errors appearing we will do our best to replace items/pets lost due to this.

We will NOT replace Pets and Exp bars lost due to the weekly reboot - this happens at about the same time every week on a monday evening between 6-7PM GMT so you have plenty of warning about this. (its been the same for the last few months and before that it was at the same time but on a friday, so its not as if its a new thing )

Wouldn't it make more sense to have the reboot in the morning not evening, when it will affect less people.

its not really what this thread is about but due to the fact that we work as well as running the server we cant actually do a morning reboot from work lol the only morning that it could be done on would be a weekend but that would prob effect more people anyways as more ppl get on over the weekends.

Unfortunately last time I check Shirl/Lone are humans with lives, and they do the reboot when is convinient for them. It's always been Monday evenings, it's pretty easier to remember (although I do forget frequently).

You'll learn to live with it, usually only down for an hour or so, plenty of time to get in from work, chill out, make dinner, then sit down for a nice night time of Mir

it used to be on a friday evening when we took the server over but it went to a poll and it was voted that we changed it to a monday evening, at least most ppl know where they stand when the reboot is at the same time every week. so we were flexible just a lil.

it takes an hour cos stuff is being put in and tested before you guys get back ingame. otherwise im sure it will be alot quicker.

its difficult for us to get the reboots done in the morning due to us both having full time jobs, and as Shirley has mentioned it can take an hour to get it sorted at times (occasionally longer) so i wouldnt want to start a reboot first thing, get part way through something and then have to go to work before i finished it.

So it was voted as mentioned for monday evenings and its worked well so far

sorry if its not a great time for you but it was one of the only suitible times for us (as mentioned contary to popurlar believe we are human too :P )
