Reboot Thursday Morning (19th March)

Well the server is having issues which i dont seem to be able to get back from so im going to aim to do a reboot first thing tomorrow morning due to the nature of the current problem i will need to get the hosts to disconnect the sessions due to me not being able ot log out. (see screenie below)

I am unsure if i can close the server down properly so im giving you lots of warning that tomorrow morning i will be rebooting.

as soon as its all sorted i will post on here to let you all know





(i had to shrink the screen a bit to be able to take a picture so for al the smart alec's thinking just expand it in the top right, sorry that doesnt do anything other than display all the server windows and no desktop bar - the joys of terminal services :P )

anyway im going to treat it as a Day off from server side work :Pso if you have any problems please do ask, the only problem is if it cant be sorted by a GM ingame then we cant do a whole lot about it till tomorrow Sorry

Please make sure you are either Logged off or have stopped hunting at about 7:00-9:00am tomorrow (i leave home at 7:40 in the morning so hopefully i should be able to get it sorted before i leave but depending on how warm my bed is it might have to wait till i arrive at work at about 8:40)

sorry for any inconvience but its just one of those annoy things that happens some times >.<

is this why the server crashed like 4 times on monday nite?

i dont think they are connected but you never know. (there was also only 2 crashes on monday :P) we ended up with another reboot on tuesday due to the server being silly and locking up all the sessions so the only way to get control of them again was for the hosts to disconnect them. (so the 3rd crash was actually on purpose )

As i noticed by the taskbar. I BLAME VISTA if it has any bearing on anything or not all i know now is u use vista. so i blame it :P

actually vista wasnt part of the issue this time


that was just another pc i tried getting connected on (i have a vista and a XP machine on my desk at work so i can cater for all the different issues my companys has for some reason our staff started buying vista OS's which meant i had to get one too >.<)

the issue actually occured on my XP Pro machine before the vista was involved :P

I reckon you should try running the server under Wine in Linux ;P
