Some help please starting up

Hi, been trying to get set up. I've D/l the mirror 8 from the main site and some patches from lones thread but when i try to open the game it lets me select a server and then closes the connection.
The autopatcher doesn't work either, just says server down.

Any ideas?

did u download the client from ere?
