The finished product? Realistically we're looking at 30 days (Jamie's normal coder is on holiday for 2 weeks, so we're forced to use someone else) to get the files debugged and basically working as they should do. Apparently the new coder is completely new to Mir, which in a much simpler way, is a good thing, as he won't overlook things that a regular Mir coder would.

We're currently discussing whether they're playable now, or if things are too buggy to play (simple things like spell graphics appearing behind you, rather than where you cast spell. Items are completely wrong icons when in your bag, or they're invisible). The server is stable, we've logged on and tested some of the new spells out (they look awesome, even in their buggy state ), as well as items, mobs, maps etc etc. But we don't want to release a server that is buggy as hell and isn't much fun to play, as it'll put people off playing it and generally diminish what we give you in the long-run.

We're thinking about releasing the server as one of two options (I'll make a poll in a minute); Beta 2.6, which will be wiped and I'll make sure people who've really tested it and helped us find things get rewarded on the live server, in form of GG/GP/whatever - This means a complete wipe in a month (maybe a little more/less time, depending on the coder). OR we release it as 2.3 (this could be done in a matter of days, a week would be more than enough time) and let you all get levelled in 2.3, I'd do events and such to keep people entertained and try to make it more of a 'fun' time, rather than "this is where the grind starts", then update it to 2.6 once the files are ready.

The second option is better for a handful of reasons; You get a server within a few days. ~ I can get to know the players (and you can get to know me) in a less stressed environment, as I won't have much to do other than be ingame/update you all. ~ You can get the more boring part of levelling out of the way (getting back to 50+ with basic items). The downside of this being that people may feel inclined to wait a month for the new files before playing (even though they make basically no difference until you hit 60+, other than having a new class), meaning there's a small server pop and people may then feel discouraged to play what they feel is a poorer (but new) version of HR. Most of my 'big plans' won't be possible until 2.6, but it would give you all something to do and the time to get back in to playing Mir.

Mir revenge maps have now been put onto the 2.6 files !!! at last i have fixed all errors on the M2sever ! so hopefully we have a full working basic server ! going in game now to test mongen and when renatus is back we can start looking @ drop files, exp , and the other things that need doing then we can start applying the "new stuff" ( the easy bits )

sorry its taken a while but these files need most things done in a .txt doc formula !

Sorry, had to take a two hour break to avoid going back to solo-sex for a week, I'll get these sorted out tomorrow, as I actually get a real night's sleep at last (I love weekends). Leave anything you need me to do on msn, Sekh, I'll do my best to get them sorted as soon as I'm free.

To people who didn't get it, 2.6 beta will be very do-able within a few days, as things that were making the server unstable at times have now been fixed.

Sekh's been away for a couple of days, just waiting for him to get back before we can continue on. I've got a pretty hefty list of things for him to look over (new idea's) before I put them to you lot, so once he's back and has checked over them, I'll forward the ones he agrees to, on to you lot.

i would take a laptop but it dies within 10 mins due to the battery so old :S
