    Default Evo summed up

This is for people that haven't been keeping watch on the Evo section and want to know some of the basics about the server. Things have changed since Sekhmet left and Cerberus joined us, but most of the things listed below are already ingame or are being worked in over the following week.

    General things
    • Caves/mobs/items have been chopped and changed, new custom maps will be introduced in the near future for important places and later caves.
    • Gems aren't particularly rare, but they're not massively common either. Orbs are rare as hell.
    • A few new methods of gaining items have been implemented (crafting among other things).
    • Group and solo caves have been planned out carefully, so you fit in to the cave you're in.
    • There are a handful of different caves to level in for each level bracket, rather than having 1.
    • Skills have had their levels completely changed, things are much more balanced and there are advanced versions of the better skills at later levels.
    • It will take you several days to reach level 150, at which point you ReBirth back to level 50 and then get back to 150 again relatively quickly, picking up a basic kit as you go.
    • In the long run people will aim to hit level 400, more determined levellers will go on to 500 (and further), but it'll take a lot of time and effort.
    • Levels have been completely redone and rebalanced, so everything is a gradual increase (hp doesn't get silly, though mp does until we get 2.6 files).
    • SW has seen a few changes, including the reduction of it's duration to 60 minutes, start time of 9pm, wall/gate hp increased and archers made useful.
    • Donations have taken a deep change; To donate for an item (let's take a MirSword, for example) it has to drop from a mob/boss first, the more that drop the more that can be donated for - Meaning one MirSword drops, ONE can be donated for, another one drops, a second can be donated for and so on. This stops donators taking a massive lead over non-donators.

    Tainted/Pure
    • Tainted and Pure are two sides (much like Heaven and Hell) that you may pick at a fairly early level (250), they provide various gains (caves, spells, items) as you get higher.
    • Tainted is focused more on attacks, while Pure is based more on defence, this is reflected by items/orbs/spells.
    • There will be multiple quests, unlocked as you level up, which give different rewards.
    • Tainted will be able to craft attack stat orbs (sc/mc/dc etc), Pure will be able to craft defence stat orbs (ac/amc/agil etc) at the top levels, this will be an extensive quest though.
    • There will be a weekly Tainted vs Pure war (which won't be unlocked until there's a handful from each side able to attend), the winners will gain a minor exp/stat boost with a simple command (repeatable - No cost/limit).

    Future things
    • 2.6 files and a world of changes that come with them.
    • EM being introduced in a new location with a very appealing drop file.
    • Custom (unique) maps/caves to be added.
    • Late level skills being added.
[*[Daily Quests for the higher levels.

It's very possible that I've forgotten something and no doubt there will be additional changes as we make them, feel free to ask questions here, one of us will try to answer them as fully as possible.

    Default What is Evo like?

As we've had some rather substantial changes since Sekhmet was replaced with Cerbus, I thought it best to give a better over-view of what Evo is like now, the server's basic ideals, not the features.

    Grouping
Firstly our number one goal is to push people to group together, we know it's not always possible or viable to group, so we're going to make sure the solo aspect of the game is kept alive, but to make people feel inclined to group, the best items ingame (probably just the top set) only drop from bosses that are killed in a group, solo bosses will have potential to drop well, but if you want to get the best of the best items, group bosses are a must.

    Exp
Super exp rate, with Cerby came his idea and planning for super high levels, just to be different, it meant a lot of item level alterations and a lot of messing around with hp to make it "fair", in addition to redoing the exp, but in the end we're very pleased with how things stand at the moment, people will be aiming for level 400 after a year or so of play time, for the more hardcore players 500 will be possible, but tough.

    Drop Rate
We're going with a Medium drop rate, as we're replacing the old MediumRate server and there is currently a Low, High and Extreme rate server under the MirRevenge title, it makes sense to go with a Medium rate, so that's what we've done, though there is a twist. The first few days is much like some of those "super rate" servers you may of played, that last all of a month, this is to make sure you can concentrate on levelling, not getting new kit that you'll replace later in the day. As you get higher the drop rate slowly moves towards a Medium rate server as you'd expect, you'll really start to feel the rates around level 250-300 ish.

    PKing
We know most players enjoy a fight, but there's a time and a place for it, so most of the top end group caves will probably be safe zones (though we need feedback on this, but that's a long way off ), PK points won't be really high, but they won't be really low either, we'll be aiming for 4 or so kills from white to red, this gives a healthy balance of being able to PK people without the chance of getting griefed to red in a split second.

    Account Sharing
On a less server-orientated note, we'll be continuing the general rule that Lapta uses, account sharing isn't supported. If you account share and something goes wrong, we're not inclined to help you (and honestly, we're not likely to). If you choose to share your account with someone, make sure you both know how things will work, which items belong to who and that both of your computers are safe and secure. I know account sharing can be helpful, but it really does lead to trouble in almost all cases, so if you're determined to do it, please follow my pointers above, it saves us having to tell unhappy players that it's their own fault and all their items are gone.

    Bug Exploiting
We take bug exploiting very seriously, the same as cheating it's generally a conscious decision that you choose to make, minor things may be overlooked with a minor ban, but the majority of bug exploits will lead to a perm account ban, with no discussion if we have proof that you're guilty. If you find a bug, report it, by telling us about it you're helping us and the server, if you hide it you'll only get yourself (and friends/guild members if they also exploit it) banned from the server.
