FW And Future SW's.

It's rather obvious that whoever FW's the palace, is going to win the fight, last week Zod got the first FW's down and won, this week MD got them down and won the fight. It's pretty clear both sides are relatively even in a fight, at the least they both have potential to win.

SO, here's the current quick-fix until we get the new server files and can cap the duration of FW, which anyone with more than 3 brain cells will agree is currently too long.

The first is to ban the use of FW inside the palace, but allow it outside. The others are self-explanatory.

We'd need to do this manually, so anyone caught using FW inside the palace gets tinged, if they do it again they go to Prison, if they then @tt and/or come back, they're temp banned.

If you can think of a better option, feel free to give it, our hands are rather tied by the current server files.

Well capping fw's duration would hinder wizzy's lvling. As they use fw to lvl more often than not.

So capping it would be pointless

just remove it from SW an make it more of a skill fight not a rush fight.

if a wiz can't fw we're gna die str8 away to warrs cos without them getting hit between running at us there is no stoping them from killing us in 2 or 3 hits.

in pvp fw is mainly used as a barrior to giv wizzys the chance to be able to take a step thru it if we get hit so we get a chance to get away, without that chance wizzys will have no chance at all against warrs even with bliz cos its easily done to just dash out of it.

as much fw as u want outside palace and 1 FW (old pvp rules) inside, cud have 1 GM inside to make sure this is upheld cannot replace the 1 FW inside untill old FW has died, we can nominate a wizz at the start of the war who is gna be the 1 to do the 1 FW inside palace

I've played Wiz's on numerous servers, Cerb's played one now and then as well, so we're both well aware of what kind of duration it should have in an ideal world. At the moment it's lasting for well over a minute, 30 seconds per cast as a level 230 Wiz in full Ant/Oma is plenty - I'm not saying that's what it'll be, but we'll be working on it.

Funnily enough when I saw this thread, I had the thought of 1 FW a side in the palace, but then we'd need a rather harsh punishment (talking temp ban for the rest of the day) for anyone who breaks this rule, it also means that Cerb or I need to be in the palace at all times, to make sure no-one breaks it... Which isn't so bad when fights are going on, it's quite entertaining, but when it's like last night, we'd much rather spend our time doing the updates.

Though I am tempted by this idea, it means a lot of work for us, then if the wall is won after someone "accidentally" FW's a second time, what happens? Do we switch the SW title over, because of the second FW? It'll end in endless arguments and whining. Most people seem happy to have it at least banned from the palace, which is good to see people agreeing on something, we'll let this thread ride for a while longer and make our decision.

You have no idea how to play a wizzy. Yea, firewall is used to as a "safeguard" but every single fight I've fought whilst on OmenLom occurs of spamming FW, which is retarded. Frankly, FW is not the "be all and end all" of wizzies. If you know how to play a wizzy - you don't have to use FW at all against warriors. I'll even prove it by coming ingame and pvping against multiple warrs without FW if need be.

I personally don't care about the duration, but it should just be completely removed from SW (Or GW, prov knows what I mean =P) so it can't be spammed like hell. (shouldn't even be able to FW outside, if you get multiple FF wizzies you can wipe out any amount of people, just requires tactics)

1 pvp idea is good but... would require a GM on every single time, with constant moans if people break the rules >.<

if you get multiple FF wizzies you can wipe out any amount of people, just requires tactics)

1 or 2 blizz - nn FF group.

1 or 2? LOL MEIGHT! Just tested your theory out, Blizz hits a Wiz (with shield up) for 350-450 damage, they have around 1.7-1.8k hp, so no, more like 4 full duration Bliz's, all at once so they can't outpot it, lol.
