Mir (Vista vs XP) need some feedback

does any1 else suffer from a lot more lag if they play mirrevenge on Vista rather than XP? it seems i lock up every now and then while playing on vista, this is bit of a pain as my vista machine is the one i spent ?2000 on and my xp machine is crappy and just for office work >.<

no problems on vista home premium or ultimate. xp pro howveer i cant play i get the grey box fills half the screen thats it

hmm looks like i'm gonna have to mess with some settings as i'm on ultimate with 4gb of ram and a quad core 3ghz processor with a 10mb line which is almost constantly running at 10mb so there should be no reason why i'm getting lag spikes, thanks for the feedback. Be interesting to know if any1 else has this problem at all.

i hate to say it but i'd bin the vista ^^ in the office i have a vista machine next to my xp machne, and although my xp machine is slow now (due to having loads of macromedia and vs and vb on it) i still use the xp over the vista as it takes for ever to try and navigatre round the vista and every time we try to install something it takes a day or fiddling to get it working correctly.


also a new OS is already in development to replace vista ^.^ so it would appear even MS are not liking it much either :P

maybe i will just install a duel boot, i like using vista for organising my media etc and it's looks really pretty with some nice dreamscenes running on the desktop (yes i'm a bit obsessive compulsive about the appearance of my computer lol >.<)

lol have you got a pc with a perspects window in the side with all the flashing lights and stuff in it? ^^ my next door neighbour used to have a strobe attached inside his case lol. (think he had a expensive alien ware case though >.< )

my computer is a bit flashy, also got a 28inch monitor fit it, all water cooled and lots of different lights in it, with clear plexyglass to show it all off lol.

are you using a wired or wireless connection? my vista laptop is faster than my pc if it's run on an e-net cable but on the wireless i get massive spikes every 20-30 seconds. if its a wireless connection it might be that.

vista seems to be a bit unpredictable with mir as well. some peoples (mine included) runs without any problems at all. others have to spend hours changing setting and sometimes it doesn't work at all so it could just be that as well

i have it running on wireless but with a 99% signal strength and running between 8 and 10mbps.
