They are actually used for getting superginsengs for one of the quests (i forget which - either fatesword or Pet quest)

Tbh i hate the little buggers but they sure can spice up a hunt of boring lures of revengemob/scarecrows ^^ just wait till it steps from under a tree into your firewall then the fun really starts

i say keep them, it makes a boring hunt some what less boring
