I can not get the test server working on my own PC, been trying all ***ing day, driving me mad.

Waiting for a new dedicated server so i can finish of the update.

Windows socket error: An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions (10013), on API 'bind'

checked double checked, triple checked all the ip's, used unpnp to turn of plug and play.

Deleted the files from my pc totally about 10 times and tried with a fresh copy.

hmmm socket errors for me only ever seem to show up when the ports are in use - If you have a port scanner of some kind double check the required ports.


alllso are you trying it on a vista machine or xp? make sure you have Full Admin permissions when trying it

uninstalled all firewalls.

ports not in use.

hmmm you havent kicked the pc recently have you ?

nothing on the specific error, the Forbidden by Access permission would suggest password related?

soooo i would double check the database password is actually correct correct in the files dbsrc.ini and setup.txt

at which point in the process does the error actually show up?

just googled that socket error and it refers to making sure you have Admin permissions >.< (are you logged on as the admin account or your own account with admin permissions ??? if your on your own account im pretty sure that doesnt have full permissions )

got a server. Much easier way :P

will use it as a public test server i think for people to try out the new updates.
