Well, first of all let me say, Everyone have a great christmas and a thriving new year, and don't get too drunk. Actually... Go crazy!!

But. I'm taking GCSE and want to take a French course, to be an international lawyer... Ya know lol..

But I find a Foreign language a little hard so If there's anyone who could give me any pointers on how to remember, revise or anyway's of just making progress in the subject, reply's would be greatly appreciated.

if u can remeber the verbs like :- Aller ( to do )
manger ( to eat )
regarder ( to watch )
you should ace the exam

try and stick to 20 or so verbs then build up around that, once you know those you can add nouns. stay within your comfort zone then you'll suddenly find you know more than you realise

I actually had a French girlfriend once, raised in England though, and didn't like, and didn't speak fluent french. Been to France a few times, Paris Beautiful! Great lakes aswell.

The fact that English is a well-spread language in the world, and you can travel without knowing ant other language is a persistent illusion.

First of all, there are many "Englishes", and the only one that's decently known is American English, that's far different from British English under many aspects (Oscar Wilde once said Americans and British are two people with everything in common, except the language)

Second, the countries where a significative quote of the population knows at least a little english are not so many, and most of them are in Europe or Middle East, not so far.

In Africa, for example, French is still more useful than English to travel, and in some zones of Asia, too. In South America (except Brasil) you need to know Spanish and English is almost useless (when not even dangerous to speak).

I speak a decent English, an almost fluent French, a good Spanish and some Portoguese, current Italian and I can read/write German and speak a little, a bit of Romanian, some words and verbs in Japanese and sentences/phrases in Mandarin Chinese. Ah, some Swahili, too. And International Sign Language, LOL.

I travelled all over the 6 continents of this little planet, in different times (being a sailor) and I often would be lost if I'd knew only English to communicate
