also are you using ready boost ? if you got 8gb of ram use a 16gb ready boost stick to cache files for you so it takes the lil presure off your comp . its not a huge improvement but still helps. i only got 4gb in so i use 8gb stick

RAID1+0 is not 4 harddrives working as 1
It's 2 Hard drives working as 1, with the other 2 hard drives mirroring them for resilience.
RAID5 ftw, it's ownage with 4 HDD's. Anyway we know what happend last time you tried to make a RAID5 lol!
actually there is another easyer way even without dual boot m8 you can use microsoft Virtual PC which is free download to create a virtual machine inside your windows installation and run the server on it by that you can run the server and test it even without having to reboot your primary windows.
PM me in msn when u online and i will give you more details on that![]()

Virtual PC can be good, but it's still very buggy with system drivers etc if your doing extensive work on your virtual system. Also uses more system resource as your PC is running both your local system and your virtual system.
It's also not very good to use as a test base, as alot of software does not support virtual enviroments and it can lead to some very strange errors.
Dual Booting is just better in alot of ways. The downside is like you said, you need to reboot your machine everytime you want to boot into your alternative OS's.
Virtual emulations will improve in time and will get better than dual booting eventually.
virtual PC is a bit tricky with it's virtual drivers but as long as you are not running intensive graphics application inside VM it works fine,
actually if you are running Windows Server 2008 as a host OS try the Hyper-V virtual enviroment it's way too stable and you hardly feel a diffrence between it and physical enviroment with the new hypervisor subsystem and loads of applications are supported under it now![]()
