I thought it would be interesting to hunt with time limits, as it gives a new "Speed Levelling" feel.
Rather than chatting and take things slow, you want to kill stuff as fast as possible before your Buff runs out or your Exp token.
This increases the demand of Large+ tokens also.
Also if you're going to spend hours camping a boss, the downside is that you'll eventually loose your buff and your exp.
You could even imagine that your character gets tired after 3 hours of hunting and needs to go back to recover and regain their buffs :P.
The problem with the exp tokens is that for instance with bdd getting from Wizzy guy to the places in bdd that using the tokens is worth it takes about 10mins that means you lose 10mins exp. Or if Yims it can take alot longer due to maze and rts etc.

Owell ^^^ be quicker next time LOL
there was a mess up on making the exp clickable every time u clicked and then used exp then logged the bar/token would come back in ur bag @useexpbar command is good but ophan has his veiws and points and is his sever
Tbh i wouldnt moan about having a npc that does it for u as you just having the exp increase is great enough without making to to dam easy !!!!
o yeah also why im ere how many peeps are there active on Med rate i have logged in a few times and seems no ones about also spoke to a few chaaps but they were rude and egnored me then Gted![]()
I've found most peeps helpful and chatty so far on Med Rate (whilst I was playing a test char few weeks back).
Thanks for the info on the Exp bar, Shirley has already pre-warned me about that to make sure the same problem didn't occur twice.
Med rate does have a good community, there are also some very insightful people on these boards. If you can get Tallos to chat about something hes like an Encylopedia on steroids. Even though i dont play as much as i did i still want to help as i know i will be back one day![]()

When you respond to someone's perfectly fair and justified question like that, I'm not at all surprised that people were rude to you, if that attitude is applied ingame.
I'm not sure if I should take the "Encyclopaedia on steroids" comment as a compliment or insult (true as it may be >_<), but I've not really played at all since Boogle's-removal-event ended, due to a handful of things.
On the one hand, I really like your thinking there Orphan (about pushing people to actually level, as well as making Large tokens have a higher value), on the other hand it really kills off a part of the game for some people... I'm sure I'm not alone in having spent WAY too many hours levelling solidly and thus simply can't be arsed to do it any more; When I level, I enjoy chatting in pm's/gchat and would much rather take things nice and slow, rather than ploughing through everything at full speed.
By forcing people to do shorter, more concentrated runs, you'll find a fair few get fed up of going back and forth, so they either plod along without the exp token, or don't level at all. That along with a couple of HUGE exp events has led to some massive level differences (namely Wiz's) and in the long run, this will make things very difficult for you to keep fair, on the one hand you have a few super-high level people who want new bosses/items and for there to be new things to do, rather than the same old stuff over and over again. On the other hand, you have the low/mid level people (55-70 odd I guess), who haven't been through everything yet and are going slower, you'll soon see that you either have to concentrate on one of these groups, or split yourself among them (neither works well, anyone who played Massacre a year+ ago will know what I mean).
Non-rambling part; Your best bet is to adjust the token's duration according to the player's level, so lower level people get a bigger bonus from them, thus level up quicker, this helps push everyone in to a closer level bracket, rather than having a few some 20-30 levels in front of everyone else, wanting new content.
Ok, ok, the "Encyclopaedia on steroids" was justified. :x
It is possible to adjust the amount of Exp you gain by your level, although it would take a fair bit of scripting.
I see what you're saying, some people would get fed up of running back and forth, but at the same time Exp tokens are not mandatory, they are a bonus to help you level.
If you want to put time into collecting Exp tokens, making large ones and going on 3 hour hunts then you can gain your rewards with your efforts. (I'm presuming its the noobs that will make the most effort to take advantage)
If you want to hunt at your own pace and have fun, then you will still level up whilst enjoying yourself anyway.
Either way, you're right, if the exp you gain adjusts with your level, it will help push the level gap together. I will take it into consideration.
