Server doss attack etc!

The server is being attcked 24/7 at the moment, but as there were like 170 odd people online last night ans 150 odd all day it's not effecting the server that much.

The only problem is when the people attacking the server use a differant ip range (ie a differant PC) the firewall takes about 3 - 5 minutes to block the attack, as the firewall need to work out if it is an attack to start with.

Looking at the server right now!

79 people online, being attacked from 7 differant ip addresses, and as i am typing it has just killed off to of the attacks.

and now another attck from another ip range has started.

The attack are being carryed out from unportected server all across the world, there is a website that give u a list of user name and passwords for these server for people to use. So its only a matter of time before the list runs dry and all the ip addresses are blocked.

They will give up long before i will!

jamie.... i know it would be a absoulte arse of an job but for the regular 200 or so people would it be possible if, like the other day you was to allow the ip's of those people whom you wanted to play on your server and only them???

would it needed to be done once or everytime you log out/reboot the server??

but like i said it would be an arse of a job but would allow people to play the server without all the winge bags who moan at every chance
