Blue screen of death when burning cds/dvds

Hi i wonder if any of you can help me with this. Im not sure if its a driver issue but ive just tried to burn some cds which i have done loads before when i got the blue screen of death and something about a physical memory dump. This happened with nero and also another package i use. Its only happening when i try and burn discs so im a bit unsure what to try.

Im not super technical though so please keep your answers simple

insert windows xp disk find the repair console n let it run. somat along those lines i forget >< lol
