i got that twice yesterday and the day befor on my war was not amused

takes the piss now tbh was in the maze trying to get souls (i have 9 now) and i carnt drop them and tbh whats the point going bk with tads(for a 20mins to lvl them 3.5mill to buy them) just to lag out yet again?????

you know full well there is an issue with Tads why do you keep buying them and then complaining that you lag out with them?

i've told you i will be making changes to the pets to try and fix them but for some reason you insist on continueing to buy them in their current state.

Hes an idea for you .

all the higher level pets have had their attacks slowed down

i havent chaged their attack types as i need to test them properly (on mondays reboot as i mentioned previously)

if they still lag you out - let me know but dont complain - i know theres an issue and i am trying to find a fix.

lone my sweetness.....y do you w8 untill reboots to test stuff? just make new mobs that wont ever be seen by the public eye... then go ingame on GM and type @reloadmonsterdb

then you can spawn the newly created monsters and if you figure out a fix for it, people dont have to wait for the reboot to get it applied. (btw the adjustments only apply to mobs spawned AFTER the reload)

It's probably down to being safe, one wrong move and the server blows up like it has down once or twice before in the early stages. I'd rather wait for a reboot safe in the knowledge that if somethings wrong it doesn't effect everyone on the server at the time. We don't have a test server so things get put in and tested on reboots.

Besides we work - so its doing it at a time where we can do it without some one expecting you to be working doing what we are employed to do, not doing something that you don't get paid by your employers to do

pffft poor excuse tbh... and you got just as much risk as blowin the server up through reloads as you have waiting till reboot... unless your uploading from access, then you will if u reload to early

The server blew twice last year in about September time due to putting things into the database and reloading them (not from uploading anything), it went twice due to myself and Penny doing things live when trying to put together the Halloween event that we had. After the ball ache that we had try to sort out players that suffered from the mess up I'd personally not do it but that's just my opinion.

lol why do i wait for reboots?

wait till you have 35 people online with pets and exp increases running - then make a small change (incorrectly) and then watch the server blow up and then see the compaints come flooding in.


i also prefer to take backups before making any changes to the system that im unsure about.


as you say reloading the server is risky at the best of times which is why when im playing around with different settings that i havent messed around with properly before -i prefer to do it when its going to cause least problems.

changing attack speed of pets is nothing special so that can be sorted - but changing magic types (race/raceimage) can cause people to start crashing completely {check out the old devil death graphic for instances }


When you get your server online and you have had experience of loads of people complaining because you tried to help them out you will understand why :P
