    Default Hmmm yeah well....

Started a defrag on me PC last night, using a 3rd party defrager not the windows defrager, about 10 minutes in to it it asked me to reboot so it could reboot in dos mode.

I clicked yeah, let it do wat ever it was doing, came back to me pc 4 hours later, said it had finished. So rebooted my PC, and all the data had been wiped!!!!

So i have installed windows on to a extrenal harddrive for now so i could get online.

I am trying to recovery the data now.

I have no access to emails or the servers at the moment.

    Will install msn shortly.

using diskinternals partition recovery software. Its found **** loads of data, but the scan is only 15% so far, so it should recover it all.

Only thing i care about is me emails, the rest of its backed up.

Use a 3rd party defrager as i use a RAID setup, and windows defragger dose a really bad job.

tbh use system mechanic. it defrags, removes any uneeded data, deletes uneeded registery keys, repairs any broken links etc, and optimizes your system.

Just use the Windows defragger lol. There might be better disk defraggers out there but on a home PC you wouldn't notice any difference.

Special defragging is only neccessary on Terminal servers or servers that are writing large ammounts of data all the time.

Did you run Disk Defragmenter while you are in safe mode?
