Mir + MSN on seperate monitors?

I've got two monitors linked up and working happily on their own (sharing same desktop, drag pages/files etc to the second screen and it works independently of the main one), but when I open Mir it blanks out the additional screen and I'm unable to go through the side of my main screen (which would then put the mouse cursor on the second screen), it basically acts as if the second screen isn't there.

I've tested this with other full screen applications, all of them work the same, except for WoW, but that's due to having a feature that makes it a Windowed application, but makes it full screen... Any way around this for Mir, or have I just bought an additional monitor purely for watching films whilst using the forums? ><

Basicly i have two monitors and when you play games you can use both monitors but the reason you cant use it because the game changes the resiluction of the game to a smaller size, i can see my stuff of my otehr screen on the destop but cant use it. the game locks the gaming screen to make sure that is used all your performace. i think it sort of BULL**** but i wanted to use msn and mir at the same time. i think you need to make it a window app some hwo but i dont know if u can but if you can find away i want to make mir a window app too

Mmm, I recall there being a thread on Euro forums years ago about a way to make Mir windowed, I think it meant something rather insane like installing a virtual hdd on to your computer and booting Mir off of that. I'm awaiting a reply from one of my friends who used to be in computer tech support, so hopefully he knows a way around it. It's great for when I want to watch a film and use the forums/msn, but the main idea was for Mir + msn/forums. >_<

ive seen mir in windows form
but this was on the new USA files

have no clue on TD 2.3 files

as far as im aware the way to do this is to have 2 graphics cards.

i have tried doing this in the past.... but because mir is a fullscreen app and cant be windowed... it just wont work without minimizing mir.

Mir tries to take up both of the monitors when you use 2. I had mine set up so that mir was only on 1 monitor but the other one got knocked down to mir resolution and colours. Not much use for anything but would be ok for MSN I just cant remember how I did it.

That would work Sally, but considering it's only Mir + films that tend to run on this pc, mine's capable of that a few times over, so I don't want to spend another £40 odd on something that there must be a work around for.

I may just have to wait until 2.6 is up and going, I'd need to ask the coder to sort out a windowed mode, but I doubt that'd be much work. Bloody annoying until then, as I play Extreme (when it's online ><), I was hoping to make levelling that bit easier with the use of forums/films to distract me.

Thanks for replies, hopefully there's a work-around that isn't going to cost anything (I'm a tight git with my pennies), Jamie dropped off msn just as I was asking him. ¬_¬

Edit: Two new ones while I was replying, lol. Isn't it possible to make the second monitor behave much like a second pc, ie give it it's own desktop etc, effectively meaning full screen apps don't extend to it?

look for a program on the internet that makes games windowed

open mode.ini and change fullmode=1 to fullmode=0

would this work for windowed mode? at work so not got mir on pc...
