Are you on Windows XP or Vista? I know Vista has a mountain of issues with Mir, though oddly the more recent version (Windows 7) runs it perfectly. If you're on Vista there's a fair few people that've got through various problems, so one of them can help you.

If it's Windows XP, I think it'll be down to your keyboard... When you press 'Pause/Break' do you see a quick flash of white writing up in the top left corner of the screen? If not, then it's a keyboard issue.

also another issue that might cause it is if you havent got a genuine copy of windows for some reason non genuine copies dont let the printscreen/pausebreak button work >.<

has ur keyboard got a f-lock key? if it has try turning it on or off and press prtscn button again.
