    Default Laptop Decisions. >_<

One of these days the o/t section will get used, lol.

Anyway pay day again and I can now happily afford £450 for a lappy, so I've been having a look around and have found these; One, two, three, five and six. So many bloody choices I can't decide (I'm aware I went more around the £500 mark, lol), if anyone has any personal experience with any of them, would be much appreciated, as I've spent the best part of the day reading reviews... Sadly most are "ye i got dis laptop 4 me mrs an she sez itz gr8 i say buy it meight" type posts, very few seem to know that an integrated gfx card is something you avoid like the plague.

The lappy needs to have fairly decent speccs, I'll be putting Windows 7 on it, so if anyone knows of a way I can get them to sell me the laptop without charging me for a useless OS (Vista), please do say. I've been told NVIDIA do weak-ass drivers, but having been on ATI Radeon for the past 3-4 years, I wouldn't know.

Edit: Removed #4, didn't realise it was 1.8ghz.

In red i will out which ones are best from each.

    1.)
    Intel® Core™2 Duo processor T5870 2.00 GHz
    3GB DDR2
    Hard Drive 250GB
15.4 " Toshiba TruBrite® WXGA TFT High Brightness display
ATI Mobility Radeon™ 256 MB dedicated VRAM (up to 2,046 MB total available graphics memory using HyperMemory™ technology with 4 GB system memory) <----would make sure only 768 at most is used so 256 from shared or computer will lag like crazy when its stealing all the ram.

    2.)
    AMD® Athlon QL-64 2.1GHz,
    3GB DDR2
    Hard Drive 500GB
15.6" WXGA Acer CrystalBrite™ TFT LCD
    ATI Radeon™ HD 3200 Graphics
256Mb f dedicated system memory, up to 1792 MB of shared system memory*) <--same as above

    4.)
    AMD® Turion RM-74 2.2GHz,
    4GB DDR2 SDRAM
    Hard Drive 320GB
15.6" WXGA Acer CrystalBrite™ TFT LCD
ATI Radeon™ HD 3200 Graphics 256Mb f dedicated system memory, up to 1792 MB of shared system memory*), <---same as above

Overall it looks like 1 is the best.

For anyone interested I went with this one, took a good 8 hours of searching around before I finally picked it. Had to pay an extra £10 to get it wednesday rather than friday, but after spending £495, I don't think the extra bit will kill me, lol.

If you're after a decent laptop, this one really does seem to be head and shoulders above the rest, until you move up to the £600+ bracket (even the £600 ones had minor upgrades), it's marked down from £700, but I assume that's the RRP, so it's got a value of around £600, hence why no others are on the same level really at £500-. If anyone thinks about getting one of these, you're welcome to poke me in a week or two and get some feedback on it.

LOL! That must be from all the advertising I gave them in the last 10 hours (posted it on facebook as well as another popular forum), they had 73 in stock when I ordered it at about 4pm... I should ask for a full refund for getting them so much business.

Thank **** I didn't wait until monday to order it. ^^

Edit: It's (kind of) back note the price.... LOL! +£50.
