Puzzle discussion thread

I'm posting this as a central thread for discussing any issues, opinions, and information about the gift puzzle pieces, the puzzles themselves and the npc for trading in the completed puzzles. I know a lot of players have given up on this event for various reasons. If you are one of those, your opinion matters too. No flames plz. Just state your opinion. For the rest of us who are still trying to complete the puzzles, post here.

Here are some of my questions:

Why do some puzzle pieces look the same but have different numbers?
If a different item, how do we know which pieces match to complete a puzzle?
The puzzle NPC has not been found, to my knowledge. Can we start getting hints?
Would it be possible for gifts to give pieces a bit more often instead of being empty?
May we have info about the rewards (types of items) to be expected from the puzzles?

IMHO, I like a challenging event/quest, but not one which is difficult beyond a reasonable expectation of completion by the average player on the server who goes at it dilligently. This one has a lot of open questions which may be discouraging some players from continuing. Other than that, could be a very good challenge.

How many pieces are there?

I presume you have to collect all of them?

Not sure exactly how may different pieces there are but I have one numbered 108.

As I understand it, the puzzles use either 4 or 6 pieces to make a picture of an item.
You would then trade those 4 or 6 pieces to the npc for the item pictured.

armours are 8 pieces rest are 4.

It's a little annoying not knowing weather it is ingame or not, as stated people are laughing as we maybe looking for another one of the manys "things to be implimented"

its fine, there is obviusly alot to do with the server but it would be nice if someone took 30 seconds to post on the forums and let ppl know what was going on!

Yes, with a full bag of peices that make up a good few amount of items
(ei easter brace peices) he wont allow you to trade for any item
i tryed each and every item with my bag full almost with PP's and with only the 4 you need and both tiems he said something about "you can't fool me" or something along those lines.
