installing on a mac

trying to install mir on a mac but it wont work so anyone know if i need to do anything differently? ty xx

ok so i installed it on the laptop instead cause thats windows but i now getting i dont have appropriate permission. im the admin on it so what does that mean? thanx for any help. xxx

u need to allow it on ur firewall.. if u have McAfee may aswell just disable it tbh..

I might be mistaken, but as far as I'm aware, Mac's hate Mir even more than Vista.

If you're running Vista on your lappy, g/l getting it running, it's an endless pain in the arse. Some things to check; Disable firewall + antivirus, make sure your antivirus isn't automatically deleting/blocking your mir.exe (add it to the exceptions, if it's doing it even while turned off), make sure you're patched up to date, give the other servers a try, to make sure you've not got the IP wrong/the server's down, if all else fails, add Jamie/Ezzo on msn and ask them politely to help.

ur right it is vista on the laptop lol. well firewall and anti virus are both off. i redownloaded it and patched it to date. still getting not allowed access thing up. it ran fine last time i had it on there. dunno why its moaning now lol.

right click on it and choose the option Run As Administrator. should work
