Ill tell u why, Its either because, you have no soundcard driver installed or you havent updated windows via windows update (Tools -> Windows update) try that m8, if that dont work. Then its probably windows framework

I had that prob before I installed my sound drivers, so its a possibility, looking at your desktop was it recently formated? (Either that or you just keep it well clean!)

If thats the case it probs is 2 do with your drivers.

u r right i have no sound drivers cause i got a new laptop with vista and there are no sound drivers that work with xp for my sound card :S

any way around this? ie not using sound
