It can only get worse then, Virgin Media is upgrading all 4Mb accounts to 8Mb from late feb. Every1 should have it by summer.

Yes im with virgin 2, im in Cardiff and oh god does it suck, peak time i cant b online cos i get disonnected constantly, its not my router cos mornings and late night it is ok(never better than ok tho).
Dont know where Cardiff is in terms of overall "badness" list but its gotta b up there, damn students i reckon every single 1 of us got fooled into thinking ahhh virgin thats gotta b good(Sort of like freshers week all over again :P).

Anyway........VIRGIN SUCKS, BRANSON IS A COCK.

If your having problems with your connection over a long period of time, get in touch with customer services, when i first got virgin installed last year it was abismal, i contacted tech support and reported the problem, they aknowlaged the problem was due to oversubscription in my area and a flag was raised, a month later it was still usless. This time i contacted them and told them i was calling to cancel my account, instantly i was put onto someone higher up, told them i havent been able to use the internet for the month so i was "paying for a service which i wasn't recieving" and that i would also be contacting ofcom to report it, as i had previously reported it to tech support and nothing was done. Within 2 days it was working perfectly and has been ever since. and they refunded me for the month too. amazing what a few choice sentences can do
