i thought we had protection from these.. by the looks of things we're still getting ****ed (excuse my french) over by the dos attacks (lag), just thought id try get an answer to if we have protection against these attacks then i would have thought it wudnt be possible to dos or am i wrong?

The server company stop the DOS attacks like these by monitoring the incoming data and closing the ports for 10mins or so to block being flooded with packets. As whoever is doing this goes through a proxy server there's no way to trace them or block them that they can't get around with a bit of effort. The level of protection isn't great but it's better than nothing.
