    Default Tao, the support class

    I just wanted to comment about the tao class. I know this has been done several times on this forum so far but i wanted to share my views with you.

    As i see things, on this forum there seems to be issues raised with the strength of the tao class. some people feel they are to strong and others have the opposing view. I feel this mainly results from your perspective, i.e are you being pk'd / pvp'd by a tao or are you playing as a tao and trying to grind the exp for the next lvl or trying to be competetive on the lvl rankings for the server.

    One of opinions that caught my interest was on a previous thread when a forum user said taos are a support class they are not meant to own , they were arguing for poison to be reverted to a spell that stopped regen and not an offensive spell. they also felt taoist pets were too strong.....no-1 overall agreeemnt was reached but this is mainly due to the perspective you look at.. as a tao myself i dont want to disadvantage myself when it comes to leveling as i dont get to play much anymore but i prefer the taoist spells to other classes so i always end up playing tao..


    The tao as a support class new spells/spell mods

    *Buff mc+dc (as a support class you should be able to buff all attack classes)

    *Not my idea but still a good 1 covert puri to Mass Puri

    *Buff Agility+MR
    lvl0 = +1
    lvl1 = +2
    lvl2 = +3
    lvl3 = +5

    * posion cloud(grey+yellow poison)not sure if this has been implemented on this server or exsists elswhere, but being able to use red poison with poison cloud would be more beneficial to a tao supporting any other class as it would assist in group leveling (a taos inability to speed up leveling in a group may result in them having to solo hunt thus wanting the taoist class to stray form supportive to offensive requirments)

    * Taoist repair skill when a taoist activates/cast this skill they summons a repair NPC which can reapair all items and includes special repair for weapons only. Whilst summoned the taoists Hp+Mp are heavily drained. the spell is cast again to destroy the Npc and stop hp/mp drain.


    *Taoist Improved resilience when this is cast on a player, that players buffs are extended for a a set perios of time. this spells works with protection field, rage and magic shield.


    i would williingly trade off:
    * adv soulfireball
    * reduce the damage of soulfireball
    * make poison the same strength as euro
    * make tao pets the same as euro


    If the tao is meant to be a support class, let it own at support and not at leveling. at least people know where they stand when they choose to play this class

    but what lvl do taos get these good spells? cuz no body would want to group with a tao that doesn't have the good supporting abilities as u said. just a thought.

    but i agree with u about ur view on the class, (eventhough i'm not a tao)

    if this was implemented, then ppl would be pkilling inorder to have a tao in their party. thus meaning that taos don't need to have good attacking spells and uber pets to lvl, since they would be hunting with more powerful players.

    thats such a good point (and 1 i compleately over-looked )

    *Buff mc+dc lvl 33 (just change ultimate enhancer to do mc aswell)

    *Mass Puri same level as puri

    *Buff Agility+MR
    lvl0 = +1 lvl 10
    lvl1 = +2 lvl 22
    lvl2 = +3 lvl 33
    lvl3 = +5 lvl 43

    * posion cloud just keep it the same just make it so u can choose either poison to equip (having just seen how much this owns on this server its pretty much redundent but if poison was noramal strenght would be worthwhile)

    * Taoist repair skill - lvl 20


    *Taoist Improved resilience
    lvl0= 31
    lvl1= 35
    lvl2= 40
    lvl3= 44



    hmmm, probs make people only want to hunt with a tao after they were lvl 31/33 which would be hard to get too (on a low rate server anyway)

    that works, lvl 31/33 is just about the place where lvling starts to slow down. but i don't think that would slow down the tao either, cuz ppl would want to get into the better books of tao so that they'll go hunting with them when their abilities become more powerful.

    thing is even with the damage over time that mass poison can do you still level slow as hell by time 1 huge lure is dead to poison cloud a war has chm 2/3 lures and a wiz has ff 3/4 maybe even 5 lures. taos have always been the strongest class for a pvp, even if poison damage was lowerd curse rate reduced and pets weakend, would just mean a tao has to curse more/summon more/poison more they still gonna run rings around a war/wiz and a war/wiz gonna cry about it, imo the tao class for this server is pretty accurate, we cant do huge damage, just the usual annoying "fkin tao i cant kill you" routine so the person ya fighting tt's

    doesnt need to be messed with imo

    like the idea for some of the spells - a mass hallu would be a good addition too imo

    they sound like some interesting spells but i dont think you would need to trade of other spells to have the put ingame (it was 1.4-1.9 mir files that had the spell limit i believe)

    also what you said about prospective, (i think the person you were talking about might of been me ^.^ i have written posts like that a few times before lol) it makes totaly sense and its generally kids that end up argueing about it because they cant see the other side of the story so that all makes sense.

    Im not quite sure why red poison (yellow) isnt already being used for mass poison but it really should be, (if any taoists says you dont need red, then you shouldnt be a taoist!)

    I think other than that those ideas could all be done (we'd need comfirmation from lapta)

    hmmm forgot about taoist Special repair. - not sure if its possible to summon a npc that isnt a mob, so i dont think it could be done. but i could be wrong. (due to when you click on it, it wont bring up a menu if you know what i mean )

    i was thinking about that NPC agia last night (maybe futile as i dont know anything about programing)
    the npc exists in a special map the skill could teleport any players in the grp to it not the other way round. after 1 minute all players are teleported back to the start of the floor they teled out on (spell disabled in KR's)
    Anyway just ideas

    nah is ok, i like my tao as it is, dont want it made weeker as most wars can solo most boss anyway and level

    make it so that the tao can call them back if he/she is in danger,( or maybe just pissed cuz the ppl took too long)

    edit: btw, taos are NOT made to solo and own everything, and it not intended to own in pvp. and ur getting plenty of good spells so that u can group with lots of wars and wiz, u'll get levels fast and they get more damage per hit so they'll want to lvl with u
