Ok well after many emails to the server company last night and them not beliving the server was being attacked etc etc, i have finally sorted it out.

The attack on the server last night was a flood attack, which isn't classed a DOS attack, but after installing some software, the flood attack was stopped straight away.

The attack came from ip address 218.202.206.82.

The same ip address has tried many time since to flood the server, and has failed each time so far.

The only problem i have now is the fact that if i reboot the server, i risk locking my self out of the server, so i have emailed the server company asking them to double check the software that has been install, to make sure that i will be able to access the server once i have rebooted it.

The software is all setup to allow mir to run, this has been tested.

Once the server has been rebooted the server should be up and running totally lag free
