Installer Download

Going to be downloading the installer tomorrow I think but still havent gotten new internet connection in my new house so I cant download it at home but before I do so I dont end up wasting my time some questions.

After the installer is done I assume Ill have to run the auto patcher. But just how much data is the auto patcher likely to download? If its 9000 items like it says on the site would it be possible for me to download those files to a folder and then take them home on my USB thingy and manually put them into the correct folders and such? Overwriting where it asks.

Is the auto patcher clever enough to create folders that are missing so that way it would just be a matter of going into the identical mir folders and copying the stuff out of those into the ones the autopatcher made?

If its not possible ill just have to keep waiting :P

Another idea would be, assuming I have a USB thing big enough which I doubt I do, maybe my iPod? Its definitely big enough but would it let me? I could install Mir onto it and then run the autopatcher to install the stuff onto my ipod and then just copy it all over into program files when I get home?

(Connection should be fast enough to run mir so long as I dont get involved in any PvP which I dont normally do anyway. Just wouldnt be able to download large amounts of files over 100mb. Think dialup only a little slower :X)

tbh i'd w8 and download the wohle shabang, as in the one on the site that's 2gb, u wont hav to w8 to run the installer etc then and once it's over it's over, u'd have the fully updated version or close to it! upa to joo neways

If you were using a computer at the cafe with fastest connection do this guide.

1. Download the installer.
2. Install the installer into your iPOD shoud be 5G space atleast? to make sure
3. Run the autopatcher and it will download the patch automatic.
4. Run the icon when your done patching the client.
5. When it runs smoothly and perfectly you can now copy and paste the folder of your mir from your iPOD to your PC at home.
6. Just create an icon to your desktop of the mir2.exe

if u download the full thing (client) and pick mirror 2 (i have found it downloads faster)

then once it is dun u dont have to run the auto patcher =D

coz wen i have dun it i havent had to run the patcher after wuds

Downloading it now but taking agessss. An hour in and its on 30% but has dropped from 100kb/s to 30kb/s lol

try a differant mirror. The 6 mirrors are placed all over the world, and i havent had time to write a script to give the user the best mirror for there loction.

Alos if you use a download manager, you can select all 6 mirrors and the download manager will try and download from all 6 links at the same time.

I chose mirror 2 as I think paintballer is in the UK so I figured thats probably closest. Was working pretty fast up til last 15 mins and then it just dropped to nothing.

i'm getting download speeds of 2.25 mbs per second from mirror 2. Might be your isp slowing the download.

Yeah internet cafe got too full and I think thats what slowed it down, it got to 50% then the whole thing just stopped lol. Gonna try get a friend to download it for me tonight. You and your game causing me such hassle
