Incorrect, only the sword is.

None of the red moon items break on death except the sword. If he kills you over and over again it's grief and you should contact a GM. I remember when I was a noob at level 45 or so and he was level 57 (godly back in the day...) he told me that BDD was his personal dungeon while I was hunting there and that I should **** off because I'm nothing.

Now BDD is never his, and he has to keep a GT on his quickslot at all times. Just level up and get revenge on him like I did.
