Door blocking, poison and the official rules?

The forums seem boring today so lets have a discussion, I just had a rather interesting fight with a taoist who realized that if you cast poison on a wizard, then walk in and out of a doorway constantly, you cannot be hit by any spells at all (even firewall on either side of the door) however you are still doing a fair chunk of damage to the wizard.
The only way to stop this tactic is to block the doorway using a pet, which of course is ban-able.

So what is the game masters official standpoint on this tactic, the choice for the wizard is to either GT from the taoist, get banned for door blocking or let the tao cain you with poison. Running away didn't work as he just kept following, using a few attacks then running back to the doorway.

Surely blocking a doorway using a pet should not be against the rules so long as it's outside of a safe zone, the pet can be killed pretty easily and it doesn't stop people using other methods to escape (logging out, RT'ing, GT'ing...) and given the above situation it can sometimes be the only option.

Me being a tao i have slightly differenrt opinions

I'd like to start off by saying, if you hit the tao wid fc which im sure you could a few times even if he was running in and out, soon he's gonna turn blue, which gives you a chance to blizz him etc. I'm also sure ur clone would help attack him.

Anyway as for the door blocking, i reckon it should be allowed, i've read posts for people moaning about it, but as you said it ain't exactly majorly hard to kill them. This once again will most likely come down to low levels having an unfair advantage (high levels blocking doors, and they ain't guna b able 2 kill high lvl pets). Which lets be fair, don't take logn to level up on this server anyway

If you go in and out of a door over and over quickly, you are invunerable to all attacks, the only way to fight someone who does that is to block the door stopping them from doing it.

in my opinion door blocking should not be bannable in an area that isn't a safe zone. as you said the pet can be killed, or you could kill the person who owns the pet or you could gt or rt. in a situation like the one you have described door blocking could well be the only option should not be against the rules

If you go in and out of a door over and over quickly, you are invunerable to all attacks, the only way to fight someone who does that is to block the door stopping them from doing it.

What I'm getting at here, is you can't hit someone with Frost Crunch if they are going in and out of a doorway.

which is why evryone is agreeing door blocking shouldn't be a bannable offence apart from in sz's

there is door blocking and there is door blocking.

standing in a door way to stop someone accessing an room or from exiting a room is bannable.

door blocking stop someone bug exoiting is not banable. but tbh you should take screenies of someone walking in and out of door ways and i will give them a 7 day ban, the only problem is, you will need about 5 screen shots to show the person is wlaking in and out the door ways more then once.

It's very border line tbh.
