This is how it works.

Server breaks i contact the hosting company. It takes between 1 and 3 hours for them to reply, really **** i know.

The hosting company has a special control panel to reboot the server and other stuff, not sure what stuff they can do, but from wati have seen it's not much.
If the hosting company cannot fix the problem they have to send a request to the data center, a data center is a building full of servers, this should take a few hours, but it seems the hosting company has moved to a new data center, and it taking around 48 hours for the data center to do simple tasks, like walk to the server and see wats wrong with it.

I do not get any updates during this process, so therefore i cannot update you with any infomation, as i have none.

I am currently looking for a new hosting company, as after a year with this company it seems there support for simple things, like rebooting a server is pretty ****.

and to think, they get paid for this! ha! i wish i had a doing fk all job too.. oh well at least the downtime will give you n vicky a chance to sort christmas out
