    what O/S r u using
might be a physical problem in the disk itself "64kb in bad sectors" and u r unlucky enough that the bad sector is on a critical windows file..
what i recommend try starting in safe mode or any other way to back up your data... fdisk/format your hard disk (better if u can do a low level format before the fdisk/format) and stop using the gay fat32 use ntfs

ok first backup data you need in your hard disk.
you have two options to backup your disk:
#1 start your computer press F8 while computer is loaded windows startup option menu will appear chose safe mode from the list and pray it works
#2 if it doesn't work take your lappy hard disk out plug it to any external usb hard disk enclouser backup your data to another media from other computer

after backup up your computer you need to low level format your disk
HDDGURU: Laptop and Desktop Hard Disk Drives, Tests, Software, Firmware, Tools, Data Recovery, HDD Repair contains loads of tools for hard disk recovery/maintainance/low level formats the recommened one is HDDGURU Downloads > Software > HDDGURU-Low-Level-Format-Tool > LLFsetup.2.36.1181.exe again to run this tool you will need to take off your hard disk out of the lappy and install it in either another lappy or another computer using USB enclouser as this tool need windows to run (take care in this step cause once u start the low level format process any data in the hard disk is physically wiped)

ok after getting your hard disk low level formated insert your windows XP CD reinstall windows and for god sake use NTFS file system
